I'm Peter McGeeney, a software engineer in Solihull, in the West Midlands. Since 2019 I've worked freelance, building .NET back ends, Zoho systems and AI automation for businesses that have outgrown manual processes.

How I work
I learn how a business actually runs before I build for it. I've automated reconciliations in a finance department and written specifications from how teams really work, so I start with your process, not the technology.
Every project starts with a written plan and ends with documentation and tests, so your team, or another developer, can look after what I've built.

Software engineer, Tonik Energy, Birmingham
Website and API work for an energy supplier, including new partner tariffs and a faster, more robust version of the site.
2016 to 2018
Software engineer, Advantage Services, Birmingham
Add-on tools for Sage accounting. I designed an object-relational mapper that let the company offer Sage 50 as a read-only database kept within a second of real time, built the ETL behind a live business intelligence system, and moved the company's Act! CRM to Zoho.
2004 to 2016
Professional poker player
Strategy built on game theory, probability and statistics. I wrote a C# and PostgreSQL app that read live tables with image recognition and showed real-time statistics.
